ReplyDeleteyes, i grant that dick cheney was a little overzealous, but i agree that pulling out of iraq at that time would have been stupid. that would have probably emboldened terrorists to attack again. why wouldn't you attack if they weren't going to do anything about it. (there were a grand total of 15 attacks under bill clinton. that's about 2 per year of his presidency. under bush? 1. i think that speaks for itself.

before 9/11, al-qaeda was a relatively small time group. they didn't attack anywhere other than their own lands until 9?11. why the hell would bush mention them if they weren't that big a threat at the time?
as for the war in iraq, regrettable, but it is neccessary. these soldiers are some of the finest americans out there and every casualty is a tragedy. but they are SOLDIERS. they know that they are going into a war zone. it's natural that in a WAR some soldiers will die. and as for the "liberators" thing, they were. saddam's government killed somewhere around 5 million people. (i'm not sure of the exact number. its around that.)but the iraqis seem to have been unappreciative little bastards.you want saddam back? fine. but in about 3 years when every single one of you is dead? come see us, eh? oh yeah, war costs money! how much more do you think it cost to clean up 15 terrorist attacks in major cities, hmmm? not just in money, but human life.

the missle defence thing. it's called "inventing". it works from time to time. you get money, you do a little testing, and eventually you get something cool. it seems to me that they're in the testing stage, eh?
they whole budget thing. clinton was riding an economic surplus created by ronald reagan. yeah him. reaganomics (a word, yes) gave clinton the surplus. now bush didn't get the same thing from his predesessor. he got the opposite. clitnon's junk economics screwed the country and bogged the economy down for bush to inherit. awesome.
minimum wage doesn't neccessarily have to rise. imagine you were a CEO. would you rather pay 2 people for 15 dollars an hour, or pay 1 person $10 bucks an hour because the government says so? the minimum wage isn't a wage that you can live off of. it's a wage to get you started in the business world. if that rises, jobs will be cut. if you have to pay a new person higher, why get a new person, when you can just sift the job to someone already on the payroll? basic economics. maybe if you weren't such a commie, you might get that. oh, the jobs thing kind of catches in with the reagan-to-clinton-to-bush thing.
yeah the whole secrecy thing is not even worth it. why SHOULD they release the report, hmm? is there ay real point in releasing it for the sake of releasing it? we should all know everything aboout the war on teror. in fact, i'm damn tired of not knowing where area 51 is. you get the point?
